We have had the most relaxing and comfortable stay in this lovely cottage. In a peaceful and private location, with beautiful views to die for from practically every window, this place has proven to be one of our favourite places to stay. The cottage is immaculate, very warm and cosy, but also light filled and spacious enough for 6. There are loads of great walks on the doorstep and there is a nice dog friendly pub in the village, which is within an easy 10 minute walk. The borders are full of great places to visit , the roads are quiet and the locals very friendly. We will be back soon... Laundry Cottage guests

"I'm not normally very good at doing nothing, but I could have stayed sitting on the terrace at Laundry Cottage in the warm sunshine, drinking in nothing more than the wonderful serene landscape, for a lifetime. The cottage is immaculate and very well equipped, as well as beautifully decorated, light and spacious. The area is what the Lake District must have been like when Arthur Ransome was a boy: breath-takingly beautiful and gloriously, heart-singingly, empty."

Our party of six had a fantastic three night stay at Laundry Cottage. The comfortable beds, great showers and high level of cleanliness in this tastefully decorated, well equipped cottage made our stay perfect. Our friendly hosts welcome of prosecco and tasty biscuits was a lovely touch, enjoyed sitting out in the sun taking in the stunning countryside. Beautiful peaceful location, but with plenty to do round and about, definitely a place to recommend. Hope to be back....

Very comfortable bed, the house was cosy and finished really nicely. Kitchen had everything needed to cook meals with and the hosts had left a bottle of fizz which was a lovely touch. This cottage combines old world charm and cool loft space living. Design and detail are to the fore. There's nothing fussy or twee here, there is always a feeling of space and light, yet it is cosy and comfortable and original architectural features have been retained. Louisa is a very considerate host, making herself available should you need anything, but remaining very unobtrusive. The local area has plenty to see and do whether your interests are sporting or cultural. I would thoroughly recommend Laundry Cottage to anyone, and may well be back myself.... Laundry Cottage guest
